#TravelChat - A Chat Room for People Who Love To Travel

Don't want to use a Java client, you can use any IRC application to connect to the room. See below for details on this.

You must enable or setup Java in your web browser !

Alternate Ways To Connect to #TravelChat

#TravelChat uses the free IRC servers provided by Freenode.net, meaning that you can connect to this chat room with any IRC Application. No matter which IRC client you use, the settings you need are:

  • Server: irc.freenode.net
  • Port: 6667 (Usually the default)

Most IRC software has Freenode as a preset option. I've listed some software below that you can use based on your platform. Windows IE users, you'll most likely need to use an IRC client since IE won't let the java client run in the browser.

Windows

A nice free client is XChat, which is free. All you need to do is set your nick names, etc and select Freenode from the list and connect. Another popular client is mIRC, which requires a paid registration, but free to try out.

Mac OS X

The one I use is X-Chat Aqua, very easy to use.

Linux

XChat is available for Linux as well.

iPhone

Colloquy is the one I use on an iPhone.
