Belgium's surrealists' museums just a short train ride apart

Belgian surrealism? Say again? The very idea sounds surrealistic. The world sees the stereotypical Belgian as a quiet clerk, perhaps in the civil service, well anchored in reality, safe from surprises. A black bowler hat and a black overcoat would suit him well. That person appears often in René Magritte's paintings; sometimes he has a green apple for a face. Not quite so real.
